Spoiler!!!
Haku does NOT drink at all.
That's Haku's unhealthy cousin, Craku…

Try to avoid consuming it at least 4 hours before bed. And try to limit your consumption to MAX 1-2 glasses per week.
You might think that alcohol, as a depressant, helps you sleep faster. That may be true, but alcohol also has a negative effect on your sleep quality. Alcohol reduces REM sleep, increases sleep fragmentation (frequent awakenings), and can exacerbate existing medical conditions

Limiting or stopping alcohol consumption completely will have huge benefits on your sleep and overall health.
1. Deeper, More Restorative Sleep
Alcohol initially acts as a sedative, helping you fall asleep faster, but it disrupts the REM (Rapid Eye Movement) stage later in the night.
REM is vital for memory consolidation, emotional processing, and waking up refreshed.
Avoiding alcohol near bedtime allows your sleep cycle to progress naturally.
2. Reduced Nighttime Wake-Ups
Alcohol increases arousals during the night, leading to fragmented sleep.
When stopped 4+ hours before bed, the body metabolizes most of the alcohol before sleep begins, minimizing sleep disturbances.
Better Breathing, improved Heart Rate and HRV
Alcohol relaxes throat muscles, worsening snoring and increasing the risk of sleep apnea.
Avoiding alcohol at night helps keep airways more stable.
Alcohol can raise your resting heart rate and lower heart rate variability (HRV) during sleep—both signs of poor recovery.
Skipping alcohol before bed supports better parasympathetic nervous system activity (rest-and-digest mode).
“I don't think anybody should drink it [alcohol]. I think it's a norm that slipped into our culture that we now just do it without thinking,” Bryan Johnson said, “But it's poison, and it's just bad for us. And there are many other ways to deal with relaxing ourselves or filling social lubrication positively. I don't think we should be drinking it [alcohol].”
If you struggle with alcohol consumption, consider seeing a professional.
